The Bucks and Norsemen went the distance with 110 minutes of soccer Tuesday evening. Not only were both teams battling each other, they each had to endure rain, a slick field, and cold conditions. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
In the night cap, the Bucks scored in the 12th minute to take the lead, but Eastern would deadlock the game at 1 late in the first half. The Mountaineers controlled the second half and added the winning goal to take down the Bucks, 2-1.
The women of Bucks Soccer faced the Eastern Oklahoma State Mountaineers for the second time this season. The result would be the same as the first match. Both teams would play to a draw, 0-0, in double overtime.
Fort Smith, Arkansas native and Bucks Cross Country runner, Marlenne Mendez, was honored on Tuesday morning at the annual Arkansas Community Colleges Conference in Little Rock. Mendez was selected as UA Rich Mountain's Academic All Star.
It only took Tatum Moore's first half goal to seal the win for the Bucks, but Maria Diedrick and Monica Boyes scored a goal a piece in the second half as the Bucks went on the shutout the Lady Cougars of Redlands CC by a score of 3-0.
The Rich Mountain Bucks were on a mission to finish with their third PERFECT SCORE of the season and did just that. The Bucks runners ran off and left the competition Saturday morning on a wet and muddy course to win the Region 2 Championship in dominating fashion.
The Bucks’ cross country team made the trip Saturday morning to the Chile Pepper to compete against some of the best talent in the country. The men ran against other NJCAA, NCAA DII, and NAIA schools. A total of 346 runners were in the second collegiate 8K race of the morning.
The foursome of the women’s cross country team competed in the Chile Pepper Classic on Saturday morning. The Bucks competed against 347 other athletes in the college 5K race’s second heat that consisted of NJCAA, NCAA DII, and NAIA schools.
