(April 9, 2026) El Reno, Oklahoma - After a mid-week win on Monday in Little Rock, the Bucks hit the road again to begin a region series at Redlands Community College on Thursday. As the season starts to wind down, every game is important for the Bucks to have a chance to qualify for postseason play.
The men held a 1-run lead going into the bottom of the sixth to start the day, but the Cougars scored 3 in the bottom half that led to a 12-10 loss for the Bucks. UARM battled back in the second game and used an 8-run eighth inning and stranded the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to get the 15-14 win. The split put the Bucks at 4-10 in Region 2.
Thursday's doubleheader was definitely a hitter's day. The Bucks hit 8 home runs on the day, including 4 from Andrew Stancin (Fernandina, FL). The sophomore had 9 RBIs in the split and scored 5 runs of his own. Yancey Steady (Baton Rouge, LA) had 2 bombs of his own and 4 RBIs. Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) did not hit the long ball, but he did drive in 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. Bryson Denning (Longview, TX) and Joe Roque (Fort Smith, AR) each hit a solo home run on the day.
UARM scored their 25 runs on 26 hits. Besides the home runs, the men also hit 4 doubles in the split. The Bucks walked 6 times and had 2 hit-by-pitches with Dylan Gibson (Springdale, AR) added to his career record total with another. He is at 21 for the season. The season record is 26.
Defensively, the Cougars put up similar offensive numbers to UARM. Jaxson Ingle (Lonoke, AR) struck out 8 hitters in 4.1 innings of his start. In the win, Maddox Hampton (3-1) got his second win of the week in 1.2 innings of relief. John McCready (Chatham, MA) came on with the bases loaded in the ninth inning and got a strikeout and groundout to secure the region win for his first save of 2026.
UARM will now have a chance on Saturday at Union Bank Field to get a region series win. First pitch in the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 pm.
