UARM Run-Rules Carl Albert; Sweeps Region Series

(April 1, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - After a couple of close ball games yesterday Poteau, the ladies concluded their region series with Carl Albert on Wednesday afternoon at Cummings-Cecil Field. 

The Bucks took care of business on Wednesday and run-ruled the Lady Vikings in a pair of 9-1 games. Their overall record is now 27-9 and 15-1 in Region 2.

UARM scored their 18 runs in 20 hits. It was a day full of singles for the Bucks. The team only had 3 doubles on the day and 2 of them came from Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK). The shortstop also led the team with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Classmates Brooke Tyler (Gainesville, TX) and Lynden Cole (Gadsden, TN) each had 3 RBIs on the afternoon with Cole recording 4 singles. 

In the circle, UARM used 4 different pitchers on the day. Mallory Abercrombie (Foreman, AR) and Lindsey Smyth (Mansfield, TX) each got the start and lasted 4.0 innings. Abercrombie (6-3) gave up 1 run on 4 hits, while Smyth (1-0) made her first start of the season after recovering from an injury. She gave up 1 run on 3 hits.

The Bucks now have Easter weekend off before returning for a 4-game region series with North Arkansas on Thursday and Saturday.
