(May 6, 2026) Ardmore, Oklahoma - After finishing the regular season last week at Western Oklahoma State College, the ladies had almost a week off to prepare for the NJCAA DII Softball Southwest District Tournament this week. The Bucks are the #2 seed in the tournament and opened their tournament with the #7 seed, SAU Tech.
UARM's bats started slow, but after the first inning, the ladies scored 2 runs in the second, third, and fourth innings before the game ended in the sixth inning on a walk-off 2-run home run by Kensley Allen (Muskogee, OK). The Bucks advance on a 9-0 win in 6-innings.
The story of the game was Abigail Koppein (Mena, AR) in the circle. The left-handed freshmen pitched a 6-inning no-hitter and was a lone walk from a perfect game. Koppein (14-3) struck out 6 hitters in the win.
At the plate, the ladies recorded 13 hits to score their 9 runs. Ashlen VanMeter (Brock, TX) joined Allen with a 2-run home run herself to kick-off the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. VanMeter and Allen were joined by Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) and Lynden Cole (Gadsden, TN) with multiple hits on the day. Kensley Allen led the way with 3 hits, while Cole hit a pair of doubles.
Breanna Hymel (Fayetteville, AR) joined Cole, Allen, and VanMeter to lead the team with 2 RBIs in the win. VanMeter and Allen both scored 2 runs, while Collins stole a pair of bases. The Bucks stole 5 bases on the day.
Now, the ladies will turn their attention to the winner of Game 4 in the tournament between #3 National Park and #6 Carl Albert. The Bucks will play at 6:30 pm on Thursday, May 7th, at Regional Park in Ardmore, OK.
