Bucks Sweep ASU Mid-South

(April 21, 2026) West Memphis, Arkansas - After a tough week last week against #2 ranked Murray State, the ladies hit the road across the state of Arkansas for an in-region match-up against ASU Mid-South at West Memphis High School. Earlier this season, the Bucks run-ruled the Lady Greyhounds in a pair of games at Cummings-Cecil Field. Those games counted toward the region standings, while Tuesday afternoon's doubleheader were regular season contest. The past 2 weeks, the ladies have been receiving votes in the NJCAA DII Softball polls. The Bucks were ranked #25 in the 2026 Pre-Season Rankings.

Much like the games earlier this season, UARM headed back west with a 12-3 and 10-0 wins over ASU Mid-South. The Bucks found themselves trailing 2-0 to start the first games, but the ladies rebounded to win in 6-innings. The second game started off with a 4-run first inning, and UARM never looked back in the run-rule in 5-innings.

The Bucks used 26 hits on Tuesday to score their 21 run. Of the 26 hits, 6 were extra base hits. The biggest hit in the doubleheader came on Lynden Cole's (Gadsden, TN) 15th home run of the season. The sophomore catcher recorded a total of 3 hits with 6 RBIs in the doubleheader. Classmate Brooke Tyler (Gainesville, TX) drove in 4 runs and scored 3 runs on the day, while freshmen Abby Ward (Bella Vista, AR) had 3 RBIs after going a perfect 4 for 4 in the first game with a double and 3 stolen bases.

Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) led the ladies with 5 base hits on the day, including a double with 2 RBIs, 5 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases. The Oklahoma Wesleyan signee leads the team with a .496 batting average this season and could break the single season average record. Carlajah Adger (Atlanta, TX) led the team with 2 doubles while also scoring 3 runs from the leadoff spot. Kensley Allen (Muskogee, OK) scored 4 runs on the afternoon. 

In the circle, Lindsey Smyth (Mansfield, TX) and Abigail Koppein (Mena, AR) got the starts and wins on the day. Smyth (3-1) lasted 4.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits. Koppein (11-3) pitched 3.0 innings and only gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5 hitters. The staff as a whole struckout 15 Lady Greyhounds and only allowed 2 free bases. 

The Bucks will now wait out mother nature to see when and where they will play their series with Western Oklahoma State College.
