Bucks Compete at Carl Kight Invitational

(April 3, 2026) Nacogdoches, Texas - The Bucks lasted competed before spring break at the Ouachita Invitational, but the men returned to campus and hit the road to Stephen F. Austin at the end of the week. The Bucks competed in the annual Carl Kight Invitaional at Homer Bryce Stadium. Competition was primarily NCAA DI and DII universities. 

The event began on Thursday evening with the distance carnival. UARM had several men compete in the 1500 meter run that was led by Carlos McFadden (Sherwood, AR) with a time of 4:23.45. It would be a personal record for the freshmen and was good enough for 49th overall. Alfred Rodriguez (Dalhart, TX) placed 57th with a 4:32.07 and was followed close behind by Ethan Mazzola (Benton, AR) with a 4:40.17 to place 61st. Camren Lynn-Edward Smith (Bella Vista, AR) rounded out the Thursday evening race with a 5:06.62. 

Friday's events started for UARM with the 400 meter dash and Josiah Jackson (Norman, OK). The freshmen finished 14th overall with a time of 49.15. The time was a new personal record. His day ended in the 200 meter dash with a 22.70 and placing 37th. 

The day rolled into the 100 meter dash for Micah Brooks (Northside, Anguilla). The freshmen two-sport athlete finished 56th with an 11.81 in the race and concluded his day in the 200 meter dash with a 24.33 that was good enough for 59th.

After Thursday's distance carnival, most of the same men ran in the 800 meter run on Friday and finished 44th-46th in the race. In order, Mazzola ran a 2:04.29 with McFadden close behind with a 2:04.40. Rodriguez ran a 2:05.37.

Khobee Osborne (De Queen, AR) ran in his usual 400 meter hurdles and placed 13th out of 27 men with a time of 55.91.

The Bucks will compete again next Friday, April 10th, in Norman, Oklahoma.
