(March 28, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - After winning a pair of doubleheaders earlier this week, including a region series win over ASU Three Rivers, the ladies were back in action again on Saturday at McMillan Park against National Park College.
The fans in attendance got their money's worth in the first game, last 12-innings and over 3 hours. The Bucks scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to send it to extras, but the Nighthawks scored a pair of runs in the top of the 12th inning to win 6-4. UARM got even in the second game with the 10-3 win. The ladies are now 23-9 overall and 11-1 in Region 2.
Lynden Cole (Gadsden, TN) had a great day at the plate with 6 hits, including a pair of home runs in the win. The sophomore also recorded a double with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR) and Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) each recorded 4 hits on the afternoon. Stout's extra base hit was a double, while Collins led off the second game with a triple. Stout produced 3 RBIs, scored 4 runs, and stole 2 bases in the doubleheader. Nobody drove in more runs on Saturday than Kensley Allen (Muskogee, OK). She only recorded 1 hit, but she drove in 4 runs, including 1 on a sacrifice fly.
In total, the ladies scored 14 runs on 25 hits. Seven of those were extra base hits, including a double from Ashlen VanMeter (Brock, TX) and Abby Ward (Bella Vista, AR). The ladies took 7 free bases and only struck out 5 times on the day.
In the circle, the staff gave up 6 earned runs on the day on 19 hits and struck out 11 hitters, while stranding 20 runners. Hayden White (Red Oak, OK) capped off her big week, going the distance in the win. White (5-1) gave up 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits. Perry Nickerson (De Queen, AR) gave the Bucks 5.0 innings of solid relief work in the loss. Nickerson (1-1) gave up on 1 run on 6 hits. Her only walk of the game ended up being the winning run for NPC.
The ladies are now finished with their region cross-over doubleheaders with the East Division. They will now start 4-game series with the West Division this coming week against Carl Albert State College. The first doubleheader will be Tuesday in Poteau.
