(April 11, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - After splitting the doubleheader on Thursday in El Reno, the Bucks made their way back home to Union Bank Field to conclude the region series with Redlands. After this weekend, UARM has 2 region series remaining to better their chances for postseason play. This year, the West and East Divisions of Region 2 will play a cross-over series to determine who makes it to the region tournament in Enid, OK.
The Bucks fought their way back into the third game of the series on Saturday afternoon and tied it a 4-4, but the Cougars added 3 runs in the top of the seventh to take the game. In the second game, Redlands had a 2-0 lead, but UARM took control in the bottom of the second inning and got the 11-4 win to split the series. The Bucks are now 17-26 overall on the season and 5-11 in region play with two series remaining.
Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX ) led the Bucks on the day with 5 hits, including a double and a home run with 3 RBIs. Miller is currently chasing the season stole base record. The sophomore has already broken the career previous record at 35 with 37 stolen bases that past two seasons at UARM. Andrew Stancin (Fernandina, FL) and Bryson Denning (Longview, TX) each added home runs on the day with each scoring 3 times themselves. Stancin's was a solo home run, while Denning plated a pair with his. That made the fifth home run hit by Stancin this week in the four game series.
Redshirt freshmen Rowdy Hand (Fairfield, TX) also had 5 hits with a RBI and 2 runs scored. Dylan Gibson (Springdale, AR) added a pair of RBIs and added another hit-by-pitch to his career record. He is now at 22 for the season. The record is 26 in a season. Yancey Steady (Baton Rouge, LA) also drove in 2 RBIs.
Offensively, the Bucks scored 15 runs on 21 hits. Of the 21 hits, 10 were extra base hits, adding 7 doubles with the 3 home runs. Aiden Poirier (Richmond, TX) and Steady hit a pair. Denning, Gibson, and Geovani Escandon (Plantation, FL) added a double each. UARM had 14 free bases between walks and hit-by-pitches, while only striking out 7 times on Saturday.
The Bucks got quality starts from both starters on Saturday. Mason Moore (Greenwood, AR) lasted 6.0 innings, resulting in no-decision. The right-hander gave up 4 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. Nicholas Patterson (Leachville, AR) lasted 7.0 innings. Patterson (4-5) gave up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 in the win.
Now, the Bucks will play a mid-week on Monday against ASU Mid-South at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock. Then, the men travel to Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, OK for a 4-game region series with the Pioneers.
