Bucks Run-Rule National Park in Doubleheader Sweep

(March 8, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - Coming off a tough loss on Tuesday at Bossier Parish and working around mather nature, UARM hit the field again on Sunday afternoon at Union Bank Field with a doubleheader against National Park College. Even though both schools are in NJCAA Region 2 DII Baseball, they are in separate divisions. The Bucks are in the West, while the Nighthawks are in the East.

National Park chipped away at the Bucks 5-2 lead in the first game, but UARM was able to hold on to the 5-4 win. To end the day, the Bucks had a 5-0 lead heading into the sixth inning. A 5-run bottom half was capped off with a Bryson Denning (Longview, TX) 2-RBI single to end the day. UARM wins 10-0 and swept National Park in the doubleheader. 

Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) had the biggest day at the plate, going 5 for 7 with 2 home runs, a double, and 6 RBIs. To top off the performance, the sophomore outfielder stole 3 bases on the day. Andrew Stancin (Fernandina, FL) and Sam Kutz (Waco, TX) joined Denning with a pair of RBIs. Each had 3 hits on the day, while Kutz had 2 doubles. 

On the mound, the Bucks used the stable in the doubleheader. Nicholas Patterson (Leachville, AR) lasted 5.0 inning in the start, giving up 2 unearned runs on 6 hits. Patterson (2-3) struck out 4 and walked 1. In the second game, UARM used a different pitcher each inning. Mason Moore (Greenwood, AR) made his collegiate debut in the top of the third inning and struck out the side to get the win. Overall, the staff gave up 1 earned run on the day with 14 strikeouts and only allowed 7 free bases.

UARM moved their mid-week game on Tuesday against SAU Tech to March 31st. Next up, the Bucks will begin region play on Thursday at Carl Albert. The 4-game series will conclude on Saturday at Union Bank Field.
