(February 17, 2026) East Camden, Arkansas - After dropping their home series to Moberly Area this past weekend, the Bucks started their first slate of road games this afternoon at SAU Tech. SAUT is in the East Division of NJCAA Region 2 DII baseball, while the Bucks are in the West Division. Today's single game was the first of the season home and home between the two schools.
UARM jumped out early 4-0 on the Rockets after an inning of play and added a pair of runs in to top of the second to lead 6-1 after two innings of play. Starting pitcher/designated hitter Aiden Poirier (Longview, TX) pitched the first two innings, before UARM used a different pitcher per inning the rest of the way for the game.
The Rockets cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fourth inning with a pair of runs on a 2-run home run, but the Bucks got one of the runs back in the top of the sixth inning. SAUT would not go away in the final three frames, tying the game at 7-7 after eight innings. UARM regained their lead in the top of the nineth, but a pair of defensive errors led to a pair of runs and a 9-8 loss on the day for the Bucks.
Offensively, the team scored 8 runs on 12 hits, including 3 doubles and a triple. Andrew Stancin (Fernandina, FL) had the best day at the plate going 3 for 6 with a double and a triple with 1 RBI. The sophomore outfield duo of Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) and Dylan Gibson (Springdale, AR) drove in 2 RBIs a piece on the afternoon.
The pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts and just 3 walks, but a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the nineth inning for Brody Maroon (Murfreesboro, AR) (1-1) got him his first loss of the season in the save situation.
The men will now head to Poplarville, Mississippi at the end of the week for a 3-game series with #2 Pearl River Community College. Game dates and times to be determined, depending on the the weekend's weather forecast.
