Bucks Come From Behind to Win Series over NIACC

(February 8, 2026) McAlester, Oklahoma - After splitting the doubleheader yesterday at Mike Deak Field, the Bucks and Trojans took the field again this afternoon to decide the series.

Through four innings, UARM had given up 3 home runs in the games and were trailing 4-0, and North Iowa Area had no-hitter going until the bottom of the fifth.

After a one out walk and a stolen base, Luke Brister (Derrider, LA) broke up the no-hitter with a RBI single to centerfield to make it 5-1. The Bucks were hanging tough on the mound, striking out 12 hitters through seven innings to keep the score the same to give themselves a change.

In the bottom half, the Bucks would tie the contest at 5-5. Brister led off the inning with a solo home run over the left field wall. Then, with 2 outs and a runner on first base, Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) came to the plate and delivered a RBI single to left field. A walk and a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases before the same thing tied the contest at 5 runs apiece, heading into the eighth inning.

As the seventh inning led off with a solo home run, so did the bottom of the eighth. This time Aiden Poirier (Richmond, TX) would hit his third homer of the season. This time to dead way centerfield. After a walk, a single, and 2 outs, Andrew Stancin (Fernandina, FL) his a 2-RBI double to right field to give the Bucks a 3-run lead heading into the nineth.

NIACC would get a couple of runs in the top of the nineth, but Brody Maroon (Murfreesboro, AR) shut the door and got flyout to left field to seal the series win.

Maroon (1-0) got his first collegiate win in 2.0 innings of work, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and struck out a lone hitter.

The men now return to home for a doubleheader on Tuesday, February 10th, against Three Rivers (MO). First pitch is scheduled for 12 pm at Union Bank Field.
