Ladies Compete at Hendrix College

(February 28, 2026) Conway, Arkansas - Bucks Track hit the road on Saturday for the Hendrix Invitational at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium. This is the first outdoor meet for the ladies. The Bucks competed against NCAA DI and DII universities with some NJCAA schools in attendance.

The Bucks started the day with the 1500 meter run for 2X Cross Country All-American Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK). The sophomore is looking for her second bid to the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship. She qualified last year in the 3000 meter steeplechase. She would finish 16th in her first race of 2026 with a time of 5:13.31. There were 37 finishers in the 1500. 

Tyia Allen (Mt. Pleasant, TX) and Ellie Taylor (Atkins, AR) competed in multiple events on Saturday. Allen started by placing 13th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.74. In the 200 meter dash, Allen finished 20th out of 27 competitors with a time of 28.27, while Taylor finished 26th with a 30.45. She also ran the 800 meter run with a time of 2:42.78. The finish was good enough for 26th out of 35 runners.

UARM Cross Country and Track alumni Sharon Strydom won the 800 meter dash at Hendrix with a time 2:20.38. She now competes for Harding University in Searcy.

The ladies will compete again at Harding University on Saturday, March 7th.
