All Bucks in Shutouts over ASU-Newport

(March 13, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - After a split on Tuesday at Northeast Texas to win the season series over the Lady Eagles, the ladies returned home on Friday to begin Region 2 play. This season teams were broke into West/East Divisions with travel partners. Region competition began with the Bucks hosting ASU-Newport and ASU Mid-South this weekend at Cummings-Cecil Field.

Mallory Abercrombie (Foreman, AR) and Abigail Koppein (Mena, AR) both put on a clinic in the circle against the Aviators. Abercrombie (3-3) would no-hit ASU-N to start the day, while Koppein (6-2) would strike out 13 hitters in a pair of shut out wins: 9-0 in five innings and 6-0. UARM is now 12-8 overall and 2-0 in region play.

Offensively, the Bucks pounded out 21 hits to score their 15 runs. Sophomores Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR) and Kinley Rankin (Horatio, AR) both recorded 4 hits on the afternoon. Rankin had 2 doubles to start the day, while Stout hit a double and drove in 3 runners. Ashlen VanMeter (Brock, TX) scored 3 times after 3 hits, including a double of her own. The ladies only struck out twice on the day and took advantage of 4 Aviator errors. 

UARM will now turn the page to Saturday when they host first year program ASU Mid-South. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm at Cummings-Cecil Field.
