Bucks Split the DH; Take Season Series Against Northeast Texas

(March 10, 2026) Mount Pleasant, Texas - UARM ended up with the week off last week against their doubleheader with Paris Junior College was postponed due to weather. The Bucks moved up their doubleheader with Northeast Texas Community College from Wednesday to Tuesday. It was their final tune-up before Region 2 play begins this weekend. Earlier this season at Cummings-Cecil Field, the ladies took both games from the Lady Eagles: 4-2 and 7-1. 

The Bucks had a 5-4 lead in the first game of the day, but Northeast Texas put up a 5-spot in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the win. UARM made a statement to end the day with a 12-1 win to get the season series win over the Lady Eagles. NTCC scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to extend the game, but the Bucks put up a 4-spot in the top of the seventh to win big.

The ladies had a big day at the plate, pounding out 25 hits to score their 17 runs. There were 7 extra base hits on the day with 4 doubles, a triple, and 2 home runs. Both homers were solo shots by Lynden Cole (Gadsden, TN) and Khloe Saxon (Longview, TX). Ashlen VanMeter (Brock, TX) led the Bucks with 5 singles and 3 RBIs. Cole did the most damage with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) returned from injury with 4 hits, including a triple and 2 stolen bases.

UARM took 8 stolen bases on the day, led by Carlajah Adger (Atlanta, TX) with 3. The ladies capitalized on 9 free bases from Northeast Texas, while also having some productive outs with 2 sac flys and 2 sac bunts. 

Abigail Koppein (Mena, AR) had a great day in the circle, pitching a complete game for her fifth win of the season. Koppein (5-2) gave up 1 run on 5 hits, but she struck out 3. For the staff, only 3 of the 10 runs scored on the day by NTCC were earned runs. 

The Bucks will now turn their attention to Region 2 play this weekend at Cummings-Cecil Field. UARM will host ASU-Newport on Friday, before hosting ASU Mid-South on Saturday at 1 pm.
