(February 22, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - The ladies were 2-2 on the week after defeating Northeast Texas and dropping a pair to #18 Seminole State College. The Bucks were looking to rebound against Arkansas State's Club team this afternoon at Cummings-Cecil Field.
UARM rebounded in a big way, blasting ASU Club: 12-1 and 22-5. The ladies pounded out 28 hits to score their 34 runs. Today's doubleheader proved to get everybody in the dugout valuable time at the plate and in the field.
Out of the 28 hits, 11 of them were extra base hits. Ashlen VanMeter (Brock, TX) led the way with 2 home runs, a double, and 8 RBIs in six trips to the plate. She hit a grand slam in the first game to reach the run-rule in the bottom of the sixth inning. Brooke Tyler (Gainesville, TX) joined the party with a home run and 5 RBIs from the lead off spot.
Three other ladies recorded 4 RBIs on the day, including Lynden Cole (Gadsden, TN), Claira Robinson (Hughes Springs, TX), and Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR). Cole did her damage with a pair of doubles, while Robinson added a double of her own.
In the circle, the Bucks used three pitchers on the day. The staff gave up 6 runs (1 earned) on the day and struck out 10. Abi Koppein (Mena, AR) led the way with 5 punchouts, followed by Hayden White (Red Oak, OK) with 4. White (1-1) evened her record in Game One to add to a pair of saves this week against Northeast Texas. Mallory Abercrombie (Foreman, AR) went 3.0 innings to get her second win of the season (2-1).
The ladies play again on Tuesday, February 24th, against Eastern Oklahoma State. The Bucks began their season at Wilburton and split with the Lady Mountaineers. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm at Cummings-Cecil Field.
