Originally from Brazil, Coach Guarda moved to the United States while in high school to attend The Oakridge School in Arlington, Texas. He played for the Dallas Texans, winning the Dallas Cup twice. After high school, he played for Southern Methodist University, where he was named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region first team in 2006. Bruno was also a Hermann Trophy Semi-Finalist and the Conference Player of the year in both 2006 and 2007. He was connected with Bucks Head Coach, Brian Byrd, during his college days and played for Coach Byrd and the DFW Tornados in the USL Premier Development League. After college, Bruno signed with FC Dallas of Major League Soccer and made his professional debut on August 3, 2008, scoring his first goal on September 21st in a 4-1 victory against the Chicago Fire. After finishing his contract in 2013, Bruno played two seasons with the Dallas Sidekicks. 

In 2015, Coach Guarda spent two years in Brazil, taking coaching courses at the Santos Academy. While attending, he coached youth soccer in the State of Sao Paulo. From 2017 until joining Bucks Soccer, Coach Guardo coached three seasons with City FC at the North Texas Youth Soccer Association and High School Soccer at The Oakridge School.
