Men Fall to NEO at Home

Men Fall to NEO at Home

(September 7, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - After a loss on Wednesday to a very good Eastern Oklahoma team, the Bucks were back to region play on Sunday afternoon against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. It was the Bucks fourth straight region match in their Wednesday/Sunday rotation.

The game was a cliche. UARM dominated the first half with attack after attack and chance after chance, but the ball refused to go into the goal. With the score at 0-0, NEO was always in the game and waited for that one opportunity to take advantage, and they did. That chance came after 60 minutes of play when a long punt up the field found an NEO running in behind the Bucks defense. NEO took advantage with a shot past the keeper to take a 1-0 lead.

UARM pushed players forward and once again created great looks at goal, but the chances were not converted. NEO countered to get behind on the right side and cut the ball back for an easy follow up shot to the corner to take a 2-0 lead in the match with ten minutes remaining. The Bucks kept pushing, but the game quickly came to a conclusion for the 2-0 region loss.

Coach Sherry is very optimistic about his team. "I am actually not feeling too bad because we dominated the game and created numerous opportunities to score. In all sports it is the same mantra, "If you don't score when you are up, you are always open to the opponent finding a way to make you regret those missed chances, and today was that day." We played well, and I am very positive about this team moving forward."

The Bucks will now have a 10-day breather from competition before heading to Murray State College on September 17th.
