Judgers Finish Second at Southeastern Livestock Expo

(March 11, 2026) Montgomery, Alabama - After a successful trips in February to The Darby and Dixie National, the men and women of UARM Livestock Judging were back on the road at the Southeastern Livestock Expo for a collegiate judging contest on Wednesday. 

The team had their best finish with a second place overall finish. The Bucks also finished second in every category: Cattle, Sheep/Goats, Swine, and Reasons.

Individually, UARM had a pair of top 5 finishes with Anna Sweat (McCaskill, AR) and Kyleigh Stephenson (Elida, NM) placing 4th and 5th in the SLE contest. Kaleb Self (Susan Moore, AL) rounded out the Bucks in the top 10, placing 9th. 

Sweat led the Bucks with a 2nd place finish in Cattle, a 3rd place finish in Sheep/Goats, and was 4th in Reasons. Stephenson had a top 10 finish in all categories: Cattle (6th), Sheep/Goats (9th), Swine (7th), and Reasons (10th). Self followed closely with a 3rd place finish in Cattle and 9th place in Reasons.

The best category of the day for the team was Swine with four UARM team members finishing in the top 10. Jaret Hinson (Exeter, MO) led the pack, placing 5th. Jake Sawyer (De Queen, AR) and Rylie Bignar (Prairie Grove, AR) placed 8th and 9th, respectively, in the category. 

 

The team will return back to campus on Thursday before heading out again on Saturday to the Houston Livestock Show for a contest on Monday, March 16th.
