UARM Wins Series over Ellsworth

(March 1, 2026) Mena, Arkansas - Looking to win their second series of the season, the Bucks hosted Ellsworth Community College from Region 11 in Iowa this weekend in a 4-game series at Union Bank Field. The men took down the Panthers in a single game on Friday, before splitting on Saturday. UARM used a fast start on Sunday morning to get their second series win of the season. Each series win has been over a college from Iowa.

The Bucks used 25 hits to score 26 runs in the four game series. Of the 25 hits, 9 were extra base hits, including 7 doubles and 2 home runs. Three different hitters lead the team with 4 hits. Luke Brister (Deridder, LA) had the biggest weekend at the plate with 2 doubles, 2 home runs, and 7 RBIs. Dylan Gibson (Springdale, AR) recorded 3 RBIs with his 4 hits. Aiden Poirier (Richmond, TX) and Jake Powell (Lindale, TX) also had 3 RBIs on the weekend.

With patience at the plate, UARM walked 21 times and got hit by 13 pitches for a total of 34 free bases. 

Nicholas Patterson (Leachville, AR) and Sam Graham (De Queen, AR) both got wins in their starts. Each with their first of the season. Kaden Akin (Hallsville, TX) got a win in relief, while Clint Wiley (Texarkana, TX) got the save to finish the series in 2.2 innings. Maddox Hampton (Jonesboro, AR) got the save to seal the win on Friday. As a staff, the Bucks combined for 33 strikeouts and gave up 20 runs (17 earns) on 27 hits. Jaxson Ingle (Lonoke, AR) led the team with 5 strikeouts, while five different Bucks struck out 4 hitters each. 

The men are scheduled to play at mid-week game on Tuesday at Bossier Parish Community College. Then, the Bucks return home on Saturday for a doubleheader against National Park College.
